Full of Grace

1.  The awesome “Thanks for being our mom” book my daughters gave me for Christmas.  It is a pictorial history of our relationship and reduced me to little girl tears.   Plus we had a lot of laughs about hairstyles and eyeglasses the size of dinner plates.

2. Having to snow blow the driveway in wind chills of minus 15 degrees and then having a 200 degree sauna to defrost in.   I once tried going from the sauna into the cold snow and thought I’d have a heart attack.  Going from the bitter cold to the heat is so much nicer.

3.  That Beaner, who met her boyfriend for a few days in Florida, went to DisneyWorld and brought back my favorite dessert in the world - zebra domes.  They are only available at the Animal Kingdom resort and she made a special trip there to get them for me.

Of course, they usually look like this

and what she brought me looked like this

Obviously they didn't travel well, but they still tasted great!

4.  That for all the travelling my family has done in the last couple of weeks, that we all managed to beat out the bad weather and arrived safely, and almost on time.

5.  That returning to work I found this on my desk - a gift from someone who wanted to thank me for helping them through the development process.  I feel VERY thanked!

  1. Haha 8; your love filled zebra domes may be a good metaphor for the year ahead: creamy and soft on the inside despite disarray on the outside :-)

This looks like a nice start. Kind, thoughtful, high calorie love!

    :-)

    1. I wouldn't mind creamy and soft on the inside AND calm and orderly on the outside. But, yes, I am very grateful for the love filled anything.

And the high calorie love is not helping my "eat healthier" resolution, so that forgiveness caveat is already coming in handy : )

  2. I love the book. So sweet.

I found a recipe for the Zebra Domes. They look complex!

And that box gave me an idea for my bank. Thank you!

    1. I once thought I'd try making the zebra domes myself until I looked at the recipe. I was lost just looking at the ingredients!

  3. Are you sure Beanie didn't just lick the frosting off those?

  4. People sure know your weaknesses! It's hard to be firm on resolutions when delicious junk food keeps getting thrown your way...
I had forgotten that you have a sauna. I'm sure you are making good use of it during this storm! Just the thought of having to blow the driveway in subzero temps is disheartening. Brr....
Oh, one more thing. I absolutely love that your daughters gave you that book. Very, very special. But, on the glasses note: Zoe asked me recently if I still had an old pair of those 'dinner plate' glasses and if so, could she have them. All styles come back around!

    1. Well, that's why my resolution this year is not to lose weight - just eat one fruit and one veggie a day : )

If those geeky glasses ever make a come back I think I'd rather go legally blind.
