Full of Grace

1.  Cheryl Wheeler.  If you have never seen her in concert  (she’s coming to Northampton and Portland)  try to find her in a city near you.  This is the 3rd time I’ve seen her in concert and she never fails to make me laugh and cry.  Often in the same song.

2.  Photographs and memories.

3. The genuine sweetness of Peachie’s boyfriend who was visiting for the weekend.

4. The traditional roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner at our delayed Christmas celebration with Martha’s best friend and family.  I had to miss a lot of football for this, but totally worth it.

5.  Cate Blanchett’s bare back.  OMG, did you see her at the Golden Globes?   I’m still trying to put my tongue back in my mouth.

  1. I've seen cheryl wheeler at the iron horse :-)

And I've seen cate blanchett in blue jasmine--incredible, maybe even better than her back at the golden globes :-)

    Love

    1. I know you are new here, but please understand that Cate is MY girlfriend in my alternate universe. You may look, but don't get too friendly : )

She was incredible in that movie, which I have seen a couple of times now. But I also have quite a thing for backs, so that dress had me drooling. I do hope though that she did not ruin her Oscar chances by the stupid comment at the end of her drunk acceptance speech. So unlike her.

  2. I thought about you during the Golden Globes! I was pretty sure I heard your sigh all the way to the west coast.

Hey, that's some impressive Yorkshire pudding! Probably not worth missing football, but impressive nonetheless.

    1. Yup, that would have been me : ) Did you see her wave to me from the red carpet?

When I make Yorkshire pudding it never gets this puffy, like it should. But there again, no one is surprised by my cooking failures.

  3. Photographs and Memories Christmas cards you sent to me . . rocketed me back to the 70s and Jim Croce. Wow. And pictures of food always appreciated. Much. ♥

  4. I loved Jim Croce! I suppose we are dating ourselves with that one.

  5. I love photographs! So glad you found a way to get your slides into the computer. Is the machine expensive that does the scanning? I have a friend that asked me how to get 3D slides into .jpgs. I haven't researched it yet. What a treasure going through the old slides that Martha put in the attic.

    1. The scanner is a Canon9000F Mark II. It it listed for $179.99 on Amazon. It has a special tray you put on the screen and will scan 4 slides at a time, converting them to photographs in whatever format you want (I used .jpg) I don't know what a 3D slide is though. Your friend could probably look at the manual on-line to see if this machine would handle them.

  6. I love Cheryl Wheeler! How cool that you know about her and love her too!!

OTOH, I am not really moved by Cate's back. Or by Cate. She's all yours. ;)

    Those Yorkshire Puddings look gorgeous.
