Full of Grace

  • That although the larger world seems to be filled with hate and violence, my everyday world is filled with love and support and incredibly kind people.  It’s good to focus on that.

  • All reservations made for a warm January vacation.

  • A vivid dream of my father, on what would have been his birthday, that made me feel like I just had a very sweet visit with him.

  • My sister sent me a batch of my mother’s handwritten recipes. They will be cherished.

  • A weekend spent baking cookies, decorating and getting the xmas tree which helped get me in the holiday spirit even though we are having Spring-like weather.  I think I may be only dreaming of a white Christmas this year.

  1. I guess it's the mild weather but I, too, am dreaming of a white Christmas! Cookies and dreams with special people are both so nice...happy for you that there is love and kindness surrounding you.

    1. There is nothing like a fresh snowfall to make me feel all cozy and Christmasy. Some people are still mowing their lawns here!

  2. This is my second Christmas in Florida. I am getting used to decorated palm trees. Still, I would give my eye teeth for a few flakes of snow and a bit of cold on Christmas Eve.

    1. Understood. A couple of years ago we went to Key West the day after Christmas. It just didn't feel right with Santa in shorts.

  3. I hope this warm weather doesn't mean that the winter weather stays longer! I mowed the front yard last weekend! Our tree is up with not one thing on it...

    1. We too are concerned that Winter is just shifting forward and we will be dreaming of a white Easter.

Our tree is also up with nothing on it. It may stay that way because of the new monster cat.

  4. As it happens I have been thinking of my parents much (more) this past week. Cookies. Yum. White Christmas, hope it stays in my dreamworld. ;-)

    1. I keep trying to figure out why you live in Chicago. Not exactly a warm weather paradise : )

    2. Well, it is home. And I've gotten to a point where the cold doesn't bother as much as the snow/ice--and that has been tamping down these last few years. ;-)

  6. I love these posts. I know that your life isn't all sunshine and rainbows and unicorns, but thank you so much for sharing the good stuff. It's a wonderful reminder to look for the good.

I love that you had that visit with your dad. Those are so precious. As are the handwritten recipes from your mom. That's gold, there.

Good luck on your snow! We are just hoping the rain lets up for a bit! Rivers are high and hills are sliding. It is WET.

    Cheers, m'dear!
