1. I thought I would be installing the kitchen cabinets this weekend but then someone told me that they should be at room temperature and humidity before installation to avoid expansion issues. So except for lugging 20 huge boxes from the garage into our teeny, tiny house (with Peachie’s boyfriend’s help) to warm up for a couple of days, I had a much needed break from kitchen work.
2. But I begin again today which is a good thing because we are now having to climb over boxes to get anywhere.
3. After over an hour at the store, Martha FINALLY picked out cabinet pulls and knobs. An HOUR to pick out a knob! Can you tell - I can’t wait for this to be over ?!?!?
4. Living with a woman who makes a point of making me laugh. Every. Single. Day.
5. Vanilla yogurt. With sprinkles. I am trying to break my nightly ice cream habit. It’s not really the same, but the sprinkles help.
Can't wait to see the pulls and knobs (along with everything else). :-)
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I can't wait to see it myself. This process needs to be over soon.
DeleteI think that is a quick buy on the knobs... We would have taken a lot longer I fear... Good luck on the installation. I would have to do meditation or something for patience before that!
ReplyDeleteYou and my partner would get along quite well. And yes, my patience is starting to wear thin but the cabinets are mostly in and we can now move in our house again. No sink or dishwasher, but at least we're no longer climbing over boxes. Progress.
DeleteAn hour for knobs? Have you decided on a floor yet? : )
ReplyDeleteIf you put some butterscotch sauce, nuts, whipped cream and cherries on the yogurt, it might be passable. But at that point, you might as well go for the ice cream too.
No floor decisions yet. And I think I have been to every flooring place in the tri-state area. She has yet to even decide on material, much less the color. Arrrrggggghhhh.
DeleteYou'll be living with those knobs for a while... better like them!
ReplyDeleteI switched to non-fat Greek yogurt with homemade jam. It's not ice cream, that's for sure. But, it's good and I don't berate myself for it. So, yeah.
My experiment has already ended. There is no substitute for ice cream. : )
DeleteI like to use frozen yogurt as the vessel to support the M&Ms, peanut butter sauce, hot fudge, and chopped up peanut butter cups. Maybe the ice-cream is the way to go :)
ReplyDeleteWill you post photos of the kitchen remodel? I'm involved in one myself, so I'm curious.
