Full of Grace

1.  My body finally starting to catch up to its current time zone.    I usually have a hard time with just Daylight Savings Time.  Traveling back and forth across 5 time zones has truly wrecked me.

2.  My daughters, and their boyfriends, home for a family wedding.  Both Martha and I come from very small families.   It is such a delight for us to watch our families grow through weddings and babies.   And watching my girls interact with babies is giving me a preview of chapters to come.   So happy.

3.  Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine.   The Universe just continues to give me gifts.

4.  Out in the woods and found these, even after the first frost

It reminds me of the quote from the Color Purple -  'I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.' I notice it. Thank you.

5.  The way small things move me in big ways.

  1. When your body finally adjusts, the clocks will change again. It's a conspiracy. You can't win.

It's amazing how many plants are just now flowering, in spite of the cold temps. They are a special gift for those who take the time to notice.

  2. With so much hate and violence and greed in the world it is so important that we also see the beauty in nature and in our relationships. Thank you for reminding, yet again, to notice.

  3. I love your list.

    Tell me more about #5.

  4. I don't know, e. I find myself tearing up (happy tears) at the most random things - my daughter holding a baby, the father/daughter dance at a wedding, a cool breeze, the incredible aroma of a flower, a kind note from a friend . . .

Recently I feel like I am more aware and more connected to everything around me. I feel sometimes I could burst with happy. And the older I get, the more I appreciate these little gifts the universe provides.

Or perhaps it's just senility setting in : )

  5. I do #5 too. My theory is that we make choices in this world ... to close our hearts down completely or to open them wide. The tearing I think is a sign of a wide open heart. (One of the signs ... there are a few.)

  6. I'm tearing up more too... but not over joyful or contemplative moments/events but the daily barrage of all the hurt, pain, suffering the world over. I don't think I'm feeling more intensely than ever before but rather less inhibited about letting my feelings flow (so to speak). As always, love the list.
