I'm not even sure what to say anymore. Outrage, shock, disbelief, sorrow, we've been through it all. These kids, though, these kids are going to change the world.
There are literally no words...my daughter asked if I could get her a bullet proof backpack (she's a 5th grader) so she can help other kids escape if there is a shooter at her school, so they can all have some protection. As a parent, it's TERRIFYING. And enraging that these white boys get away with this and worse and black men are killed on the street when they're not even breaking the law. As someone who is partnered to a black man, it all just seems so pointless...the ONLY safe place anymore is our home.

ReplyDeleteHaving two family members working in schools has me more nervous than when Martha was a cop. We have lost all sense of reason.
DeleteThere was a lock down in my grandson's Florida elementary school. He's in kindergarten!
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine . . .
DeleteI saw this on facebook and it is truth. And it makes me livid. Fuck everyone's thoughts and prayers.
