Yesterday my oldest daughter accepted the job of her dreams as a full time social worker working with kids and families.

Today she found out she was selected to be a member of our Pride Center's Leadership Development Council.  They told her she was selected because they loved her answers to what "3 things about her make her suited to this role, besides her resume?"

Her answers:

I love my two moms;

I wouldn't set foot in North Carolina; and

I would go gay for Ruby Rose.

I do love that girl.

  1. Congratulations!
    Wonderful when progeny meet expectations.
    Spectacular when they exceed.
    Smart. Dedicated. Funny. So cool.

  2. Ha! Very nice. Ruby Rose has that effect on nearly everyone. I am also very happy to hear she got the job of her dreams.

  3. Hahahaha! Oh my goodness, that kid is funny! And, yes, who wouldn't go gay for Ruby Rose!?! Also, she'll be surrounded by the gay in social work. I think that at least a third of social workers are lesbians.

    Congratulations on being the mom of an awesome human being. You and Martha have done a spectacular job. Congratulations to the kid on keeping her focus and landing the job she wanted. Nutella sundaes all around!

  4. that is awesome! great answers... wish her much success!

  5. I had to look up Ruby Rose. I have to agree with your daughter:)
