Full of Grace

Finally . . . Spring!!!

I know most of you have already experienced this but for those of us who live where winter was of unusual length and temperature and snow, please allow me this time to me to revel in:

  • 70 degrees
  • shorts and T-shirts and sandals
  • green sprouts poking up from the ground
  • the honking of geese returning
  • chirping birds waking me at 4 am
  • vegetable garden tilled and ready
  • basement flowers spending time outdoors
  • trees budding
  • the changing light and longer days
  • light cotton bedding
  • bike riding
  • and the local ice cream stand open!

Okay, you can go back to your already blooming flowers and fully leafed trees now.   I will be here, enjoying the anticipation.

  1. oh yes longer days! and tree buds and bird chirps and everything else you've so aptly mentioned. I am giddy. i'm in ptown so no 70 degrees but i felt an almost warm ocean breeze a couple of days ago and that was quite a joy. i'm so glad you're up and flourishing, 8. xo

    1. I would trade a few degrees for an almost warm ocean breeze, any day!

  2. I cannot agree with you more.

It feels as though it has been an especially exasperating winter. Yesterday I sat outside and had a cup of tea and journaled and just felt grateful.

    1. I do think that those of use who have intense seasons feel the gratitude for each one very keenly. And sipping tea outside sounds just lovely.

  3. Happy dance. I feel like we have another week (at least) of wonky before it is full ON. But, even the glimmer days here and there have been fab. Regardless of the temps, longer light is sing-a-symphony time.

    1. We've been fluctuating a lot too. But we've had enough warmth to know we are headed in the right direction. And I love being able to take long evening walks.

    1. it's funny how we get all excited about the warmth of Spring and then suddenly we're all saying "crap, there's a lot of work to do." Still, I am not complaining - I'd rather be mowing than shoveling.
